American Purebred Association

The American Purebred Association exists to allow for the Registration of purebred dogs. To avoid the pitfalls that other organizations have experienced, the American Purebred Association requires photographic proof of a purebred's charateristics. Anyone desiring to register their purebred must submit a short application, two photos of their animal (a front and side view) along with our registration fee of just $10 (non-refundable). Dogs of any age qualify, but puppies must be at least eight weeks old (and photos must be taken at 8 weeks or later) to be registered.

Our staff will review the application and study the photos of your dog. We are looking for physical characteristics of the breed submitted. If they are present, we will issue you a Purebred Registration Certificate stating that the American Purebred Association has decided that your dog has met the physical qualifications of what a purebred of the breed submitted should be.

If your dog fails to meet what we consider to be the physical qualifications of what a purebred should look like, we will send you a registration rejection letter. Your fee cannot be refunded. Use the list of links below to research the characteristics of the breed you're submitting for registration.
